Winchester Gymnastics Club is a recreational gym club for children 3 – 16 years old, based at Henry Beaufort School and Prince’s Mead School, Hampshire.
Run by lead coach Patricia Francis and assisted by a dedicated committee of parents, tutors and helpers, Winchester Gym Club opened at Henry Beaufort School in March 2006 and has now over 200 members aged 3 years to teenage.
The club celebrated passing the Gym Mark award from British Gymnastics in 2008. This award is given to clubs that demonstrate a high quality in all their activities – the committee and coaches were delighted to have achieved this.
In addition to the gymnastic apparatus provided by the school, the club has been successful in applying for funding and grants from Winchester City Council and the Local Network Fund, enabling the club to offer a diverse range of exciting equipment for a wide age range.
Specialist soft equipment has been purchased ideal for the fun and safety of our member toddlers and, now with Asymmetric bars and an Air Track, junior gymnasts can learn to flip and tumble using the latest professional equipment.
